15 boats. Two days of racing. Over 100 customers and suppliers. One fantastic weekend on the Solent.
The 2026 BSS Regatta was everything a sailing event should be – competitive on the water, relaxed off it, and filled with plenty of laughs, great company and a healthy dose of friendly rivalry.
Hosted in partnership with Fairview Sailing, the BSS Challenge Cup brought together 15 teams from across the BSS supplier network for an action-packed few days of sailing, networking and celebration, all while raising money for an incredibly worthwhile cause: Make-A-Wish® UK.
Setting Sail for the BSS Challenge Cup
The event got underway in Hamble, with teams arriving at Fairview Sailing for their boat handovers before heading out onto the water.
With 15 boats taking part, the fleet made its way across the Solent towards Cowes, where the teams settled in for an evening of drinks, dinner and the first opportunity to get to know their fellow competitors.
And while the competitive spirit was already starting to build, the real highlight was the people. The BSS Regatta brought customers, suppliers, skippers and sailing enthusiasts together in a wonderfully social atmosphere – creating plenty of opportunities to catch up, make new connections and enjoy some time away from the usual working environment.
Two Days of Racing, Rivalry and Plenty of Fun
Friday was all about the racing.
After breakfast and the morning skipper’s briefing, the teams headed out onto the Solent, ready for a day of competitive sailing. Three races were planned, with a short break for lunch between the action, giving crews the chance to regroup before heading back out onto the water.
With experienced Fairview skippers on board, the teams could concentrate on the racing and enjoy the experience, whether they were seasoned sailors or newer to life on the water.
Back in Cowes, the boats returned to Cowes Yacht Haven in the afternoon before everyone came together once again for an evening of celebrations.
And, as with any great regatta, there were plenty of entertaining moments and stories from the day – exactly the kind of memories that make events like this so memorable.
From the Solent to the Celebration
The evening brought everyone together at the Events Centre for pre-dinner drinks, followed by the much-anticipated prize-giving, a three-course dinner and entertainment.
It was the perfect way to round off an energetic day on the water, with the competitive racing giving way to plenty of laughs, conversation and camaraderie.
Of course, there could only be one winner of the 2026 BSS Challenge Cup.
🏆 Congratulations to Crane Fluid Systems — this year’s winners!
🥈 And congratulations to Ideal Heating – Commercial Products — our runners-up!
But ultimately, the event wasn’t just about who crossed the finish line first. It was about bringing people together, enjoying the Solent, strengthening relationships and creating an experience that everyone could share.
Sailing for a Great Cause
One of the most important parts of the BSS Regatta was its charitable focus.
Throughout the event, teams had the opportunity to support Make-A-Wish® UK, helping to raise an incredible £1,500+ through the charity raffle.
The money raised will help Make-A-Wish® UK grant life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses – giving them the opportunity to experience something truly magical during an incredibly difficult time.
It was a fantastic achievement and added an even greater sense of purpose to an already memorable event.
A Huge Thank You
Events like the BSS Regatta don’t happen without an enormous amount of teamwork behind the scenes.
A huge thank you goes to BSS, all 15 participating supplier teams, the 100+ customers who joined us, the Fairview Sailing team and Cowes Yacht Haven for helping to make the event such a success.
And, of course, thank you to everyone who brought their competitive spirit, enthusiasm and sense of humour to the Solent!
From the first boat handovers in Hamble to the final sail home, the 2026 BSS Regatta was a brilliant few days of sailing, friendship, networking and fun – with a fantastic £1,500+ raised for Make-A-Wish® UK along the way.
We’re already looking forward to the next one. ⛵
