RYA Start Yachting

Course Duration: 2 days

The RYA Start Yachting sailing course takes place over a weekend and is the perfect way to start sailing and a great way to test your sea-legs.

Perfect for complete beginners, the weekend is run at a relaxed pace with an emphasis on having fun, so if you are feeling a little nervous our instructors will have time to reassure you.

Absolutely no prior sailing experience is needed and we will provide all the expensive safety equipment and waterproof jacket and trousers and pay for all the berthing costs. Hopefully you'll find a new passion and this will be the start of a life long hobby.

Format

Join the instructor and your fellow crew on board your yacht in Port Hamble Marina at 7pm on the Friday night before the course starts. You'll enjoy a meal together in one of the local village pubs, a good chance to get to know your crew-mates and plan the weekend's sailing. All tuition is delivered on board, there is no classroom element.

2-day Course format: Stay on board both Friday and Saturday evening, sailing on Saturday and Sunday, finishing about 4pm on Sunday.

3-day Course format: Stay on board Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, with an extra day of sailing on Monday (selected dates include a Bank Holiday Monday).
