Island Sailing Club
We have bar, dining room and shower facilities all of which are available to you once you have signed in. Our dress code is smart casual and there is no need for gentlemen to wear a tie in the evenings unless attending a formal Club event.
Weather information is available on a screen in the main bar, but during normal office hours the office staff can usually give you access to your favourite weather sites if you would prefer.
May we wish you a pleasant visit and a safe onward journey.

Round The Island Race
With over 1,800 yachts competing (that's more than 11,000 sailors), this annual one day race is the yachting world's equivalent of the London Marathon. First raced in 1931, yachts still compete for the Gold Roman Bowl, the legendary trophy presented by the race's founder Cyril Windeler. Little did he realise what he was starting and today, a huge variety of yachts take part, from maxi-sleds and high performance mulithulls to small coastal cruisers and sedate old timers. The Round the Island Race is a multitude of races within a race!

Vendée Globe
The Vendée Globe is a round-the-world single-handed yacht race, sailed non-stop and without assistance. The race was founded by Philippe Jeantot in 1989, and since 1992 has taken place every four years.
As the only single-handed non-stop round-the-world race (in contrast to the VELUX 5 Oceans Race, which is sailed in stages), the race is a serious test of individual endurance, and is regarded by many as the ultimate in ocean racing.
